Job summary

Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH) in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Packaging Manager to oversee cannabis packaging operations, ensure compliance, and maintain production schedules.

You will lead a packaging team, train staff on SOPs, supervise equipment, and coordinate with QA and supervisors to meet quotas while upholding regulatory standards.

This full-time, on-site role requires 2+ years in packaging, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving cannabis regulations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years packaging and/or cannabis production in a commercial cannabis facility.
• 2+ years leading and managing teams.
• Knowledge of state cannabis laws and regulatory compliance; ability to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• High school diploma or GED; legal eligibility to work in cannabis.
• Observes SOPs, safety, and regulatory procedures consistently.
• Excellent organization and time management; strong communication.
• Must be 21+ and able to obtain/retain required regulatory credentials.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to fulfill production quotas and maintain output.
• Foster respectful communication with staff and leadership for a positive environment.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust production schedules accordingly.
• Oversee SOPs for weighing, fulfillment, labeling, and storage of products.
• Direct manicuring and packaging of plant material and infused products to compliance.
• Ensure all tasks align with regulatory standards; manage department schedules.
• Uphold product quality through attention to detail during production.
• Train staff on automated and semi-automated packaging equipment.
• Address employee issues, implement corrective actions, and manage headcount.
• Collaborate with supervisors on attendance policies and employee handbook.
• Cover Senior Packaging Manager in their absence for seamless operations.
