Job summary

Houston Methodist Flow Cytometry Core in Houston, TX, seeks a full-time salaried research cytometry specialist to support more than 70 principal investigators across biology disciplines. Qualifications

• Master’s degree or terminal degree with two years post-doctoral experience.
• Five years experience, depending on education level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in customer education, customer training and service.

Responsibilities

• Operate cytometers and sorters, including setup and quality control.
• Train users on analyzers and assist in data analysis.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, inventory, and data backups.
• Assist with billing and monitor daily workflow in a busy core lab.
• Train/reinforce analysis software use with research personnel.
