Job summary

A-Line Staffing Solutions is seeking an Instrument Test Technician 2 in Milpitas, CA. You will conduct production testing of flow cytometers and related medical devices, performing system-level and subassembly testing, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure quality products.

Responsibilities include optimization after final assembly, data recording, and collaboration with engineers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, probability, and basic geometry.
• Good mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to reach, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs daily.
• Experience using digital voltmeters (DVMs) and oscilloscopes.
• Strong PC or Mac computer skills; MS Word, Excel, Windows/Mac OS.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and programs.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 and 21 CFR Part 820.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform instrument optimization after final assembly, including laser alignment and electrical adjustments.
• Conduct final production testing and inspection to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Analyze test results to identify root causes and determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot system- and subassembly-level issues across multiple domains.
• Replace or repair defective components and return units to assembly for repair.
• Record data and generate documentation for DHRs.
• Read and interpret test instructions, BOMs, SOPs, and controlled docs.
• Collaborate with engineers and production to resolve issues.
• Develop troubleshooting techniques and improve test methods.
• Identify design/process issues and contribute to continuous improvements.
• Support quality, cost, and cycle-time reduction initiatives.
• Assist with documentation updates and data collection.
• Ensure a clean, safe work area and complete timesheets and training records.
