Job summary

Medical Device Company in San Jose, CA is seeking a Scientist II, Research & Development for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on testing clinical reagents by flow cytometry for research and development purposes and requires performing assays and data analysis.

The successful candidate will work with standard protocols, interpret diverse data sets, and operate relatively independently to determine effective solutions within the R&D team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field with lab experience.
• Ability to learn flow cytometry and familiarity with related instruments and applications.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to multitask in a diverse work environment.
• Biostatistical methods knowledge and data analysis experience desired.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of various reagents by established procedures on flow cytometry instruments.
• Provide support for flow cytometry operations and troubleshoot assays.
• Analyze and interpret data using FACSDiva, FCS Express or FACSuite software.
• Help prepare technical protocols, analyses, reports, and summaries.
• Maintain, record, and organize results accurately.
• Coordinate with Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing and Medical Affairs as needed.
• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
