Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the Surety industry as a Risk Advisor or underwriter
• Active Property & Casualty insurance license
• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred; high school diploma required
• Strong financial literacy, sharp negotiation skills, and clear, effective communication
• Team player with resilience and collaborator mindset

Responsibilities

• New Business Development: Source and secure new surety accounts through networking with construction oriented accounting firms, CPAs, and other leads
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for contractors and commercial surety clients
• Financial Analysis: Review client financial statements, WIP reports, and credit histories to assess bonding capacity
• Underwriter Collaboration: Present submissions to surety companies and negotiate terms and bond capacity
• Market Networking: Engage with local construction market groups and associations (ABC, AGC, CFMA)
• Technology: Use MS Office, agency systems, AI tools and related technologies
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Coordinate across teams to support clients and agency goals
