Job summary

Hy-Vee in a store environment seeks a Floral Designer to create custom arrangements, lead the floral clerks, and maintain stocked and fresh products. You will handle FTD and Teleflora orders, advise customers on care, and support department leadership.

The role requires strong design skills, customer service, and teamwork in a fast-paced retail setting. A high school diploma and 3 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• HSD or equivalent required; strong customer service and floral knowledge preferred.
• Experience in lead roles or supervising others is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple orders and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and create arrangements to exact specifications.
• Lead floral clerks, train on simple designs and daily tasks.
• Process and wrap flowers to maintain freshness and prevent damage.
• Manage FTD/Teleflora/internet orders and protect order confidentiality.
• Inventory, assess freshness, replace damaged product, and coordinate stock.
• Assist with store events and department leadership when needed.
• Staff scheduling and coordinating tasks as directed by Floral Manager.
• Identify opportunities to place specials and share creative ideas for arrangements.
• Unloading trucks and stocking, while upholding Hy-Vee guidelines.
