Job summary

Hy-Vee Davenport is seeking a Floral Designer to blend creativity with customer care in the Floral Department. You will design arrangements to customer specifications, lead floral clerks, and ensure the department stays stocked, fresh, and well organized.

You’ll handle FTD and Teleflora orders, counsel customers on floral care, and step in as department lead as needed. The role suits a skilled designer who thrives in a fast-paced, friendly retail environment.

Qualifications

• Floral design skills and knowledge of floral products, care and handling.
• Ability to lead floral clerks and coordinate department tasks.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers and creating arrangements to exact specifications.
• Process and wrap flowers, ensuring care and preventing damage.
• Handle orders (FTD, Teleflora, interstore) and privacy of order details.
• Inventory and maintain freshness of products; replace as needed.
• Lead floral clerks and train on simple designs and daily tasks.
• Order flowers and supplies daily with guidance from Floral Manager.
• Assist with in-store events and lead in manager's absence.
