Job summary

Kroger at 40 S Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60661 is hiring a floral department associate responsible for assisting customers, designing arrangements, and processing orders. You will greet customers, maintain clean displays, handle cash, and support merchandising and stocking tasks in a fast-paced grocery environment.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail, with weekend and holiday flexibility. Prior grocery retail experience and ability to read labels are preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist and greet customers promptly and provide great service.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders.
• Package orders effectively, safely and efficiently.
• Maintain customer records and files properly.
• Assist customers in location and selecting items.
• Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously.
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department.
• Keep floors, clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements and fill balloons.
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures.
