Job summary

Kempsville Building Materials (a division of Carter Lumber) is seeking a Flooring Design & Sales Specialist to present and sell flooring products and build rapport with customers in the community.

The role includes training store personnel, increasing sales, and managing projects from estimates to installation, with a focus on customer service and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 3+ years flooring sales experience.
• Knowledge in the building materials industry.
• Decision making abilities and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and improve profitability.
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Develops customer relationships and determines customer needs.
• Responsible for maintaining and increasing the sales of flooring products.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Prepares estimates for these products and ensures that they are ordered and shipped on time.
• Works closely with OSRs to analyze sales opportunities and assistance on the jobsite.
• Responsible for overseeing installed jobs.

• Ensures all logs, workbooks and paperwork is complete and submitted as required.

• Identifies personal growth needs and improvement opportunities; seeks to obtain product information; learns about packages and products.
• Completes required training and development courses.
