Job summary

Kempsville Building Materials, a division of Carter Lumber, is seeking a Flooring Design & Sales Specialist to present and sell flooring products, build rapport with customers, and train store personnel. The role requires knowledge of flooring options, strong customer service, and a focus on growth through builder partnerships.

Responsibilities include developing client relationships, delivering product presentations, preparing accurate estimates, coordinating with OSRs on sales opportunities,

Qualifications

• 3+ years flooring sales experience.
• Knowledge in the building materials industry.
• Decision making abilities and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to increase sales and improve profitability.
• Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of customer service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develops customer relationships and determines customer needs.
• Responsible for maintaining and increasing the sales of flooring products.
• Gives presentations to builders and provides expert advice on product features and benefits.
• Prepares estimates for these products and ensures that they are ordered and shipped on time.
• Works closely with OSRs to analyze sales opportunities and assistance on the jobsite.
• Responsible for overseeing installed jobs.
• Keeps lines of communication open between team members at the store and customers to ensure that service is accurate and timely.
• Ensures all logs, workbooks and paperwork is complete and submitted as required.
• Identifies personal growth needs and improvement opportunities; seeks to obtain product information; learns about packages and products.
• Completes required training and development courses.
