Kempsville Building Materials, a division of Carter Lumber, is seeking an energetic Outside Sales support to join its fast-paced team in Virginia. You will assist in finding and completing sales of our full line of building materials and installed services, manage paperwork, and coordinate deliveries.

Ideal candidates are extroverted, conscientious, with strong MS Office skills and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. This role offers growth opportunities within a family-owned company.

• Ensures all lines of communication are tied together and supports the outside sales program to meet sales and profit goals.
• Processes orders and ensures materials are available for timely shipment.
• Performs material take-offs from blueprints and provides accurate take-offs for bidding.
• Identifies personal growth and commits to training and product knowledge.

Description

In this role, you will providesales and administrativesupport to the Outside Sales team. This includes maintaining the OutsideSales schedule by ensuring timely material deliveriesand that jobs are completed according to contract. You will manage the flow ofpaperwork, maintain an information database, and create service requests in the POS system. Most importantly, you will communicate with Outside Sales Reps on their needs as well as work effectively with vendors to ensure thatthe needs of the customer are being met.

Responsibilities of the Position:

Estimating

• Performs material take-offs from a variety of blueprints in a timely manner.
• Reviews construction documents and understands material to bid to provide accurate take-offs and adequate support.

Knowledge & Training

• Identifies personal growth needs and learning opportunities.
• Completes required orientation and safety training.
• Commits to continued learning on products, packages, procedures and more
