Job description

Position: Floor Technician (Full‑time) – University of North Alabama

Location: 553 Oakview Circle, Florence, AL 35632 (Other district locations available).

Schedule: Full time, 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM; days may vary. Flexible schedule may be available for full and part‑time positions.

Pay: $13.00 per hour fixed rate.

Job Summary

Floor Technician is responsible for floor maintenance, restoration, and the operation of industrial floor‑care equipment, ensuring a clean, safe, and distraction‑free environment.

Essential Functions

• Maintain knowledge of hard‑surface floor maintenance principles and use proper procedures including stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning and buffing.
• Operate various types of industrial floor‑care equipment.
• Utilize automated equipment to clean large floor surfaces.
• Perform carpet and upholstery care using proper procedures such as shampooing, damp‑surface extraction, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
• Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a floor‑care technician or related role preferred.
• Proven knowledge of floor‑care equipment and techniques.
• Knowledge and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
