Title: Floor Technician
Hours: 3rd Shift - able to work holidays and weekends.
Reports to: Account Manager
Summary: The Floor Tech cleans all floor areas of the facility in a professional manner in order to reflect the
highest integrity of the Custodial Department.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Performs routine cleaning of the floors on the assigned facility in a neat and sanitary manner.
- Mops, sweeps, scrubs, and strips floor, applies floor sealers and finishes.
- Full vacuuming will be required in traffic areas and any visible debris on carpets.
- Spot clean carpets as needed, utilizing extraction and other methods.
- Maintain hard floors with no build up in corners and provide dust mop.
- Polish floor using buffing products to restore shine, high gloss, and uniform appearance to the traffic areas.
- Must maintain and keep equipment clean and in good operational conditions.
- Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
- Locks and unlocks doors and windows to offices and other rooms as necessary. Turns off lights when rooms are unoccupied.
- Works day, evening, or night shift as assigned.
- Must do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
- Observes safety precautions at all times.
- Perform related work as directed.
- At the end of the shift, equipment must be left clean and ready to use including cleaning materials.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED. One year of related experience or training or a combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions that were provided.
- Must be able to communicate and understand English.
TYPE OF CHEMICAL USED:
In general, we use Green Products. In the accounts, you will be using Floor Strippers, Floor Finish, Grout Cleaners, Tile Cleaners, Spot removers, Germicidal, Deodorizers, and Glass Cleaners.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:- Bends 20 to 30 times in a 4-hour shift carrying 20 to 40 pounds.
- Carry 5 to 10 times in a 4-hour shift carrying 20 to 40 pounds.
- Kneel 5 to 10 times in a 4-hour shift.
- Lift Floor to Waist, pull and push 5 to 10 times in a 4-hour shift carrying from 5 to 10 pounds.
- Squats and Twist 5 to 10 times in a 4-hour shift.
- Walks approximately 1 mile in a 4-hour shift.
