Job summary

Accela Rehab & Care Center at Somerton is seeking a Floor Technician to clean and maintain floors across resident rooms, hallways, and common areas in our Philadelphia facility. The role emphasizes following cleaning protocols, infection control guidelines, and safe use of equipment.

Ideal candidates have prior floor care or custodial experience, can work independently or with a team, and are flexible with shifts including weekends. We offer benefits and a stable, supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care or custodial work; healthcare/long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors in resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and designated spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required.
• Follow cleaning protocols and infection control guidelines to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely per manufacturer instructions and facility policies.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Assist with additional custodial duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities of a Floor Technician:

• Clean and maintain floors in resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other designated spaces.
• Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors.
• Follow established cleaning protocols and infection control guidelines to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and facility policies.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Assist with additional custodial duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications of a Floor Technician:

• Previous experience in floor care, custodial work, or a similar role; experience in a healthcare or long-term care environment is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
