Job summary

Accela Rehab & Care Center at Somerton is hiring a Floor Technician to clean and maintain floors across resident rooms, hallways, and common areas. You will follow infection control guidelines, operate cleaning equipment safely, and report any maintenance concerns to the supervisor.

The role requires experience in floor care or custodial work, plus the ability to work independently or with a team, with flexible shifts including weekends if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care or custodial work; healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High standards of cleanliness with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and instructions precisely.
• Flexibility to work multiple shifts, including weekends if required.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and using cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors in resident rooms, hallways, common areas and other designated spaces.
• Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing tasks.
• Follow cleaning protocols and infection control guidelines to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and per manufacturer instructions and facility policies.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Assist with additional custodial duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities of a Floor Technician:

• Clean and maintain floors in resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other designated spaces.
• Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing floors.
• Follow established cleaning protocols and infection control guidelines to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and facility policies.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Assist with additional custodial duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications of a Floor Technician:

• Previous experience in floor care, custodial work, or a similar role; experience in a healthcare or long-term care environment is preferred.
