Job description

SBM Management is searching for a Floor Technician who can make floors sparkle and shine! We are hiring a Floor Technician with experience in ensuring customers have clean and orderly commercial or office spaces. Professional communication with customers to meet their expectations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Address risky behaviors in oneself and others.
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete assignments.
• Perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Assist during staff shortages in custodial, recycling, or maintenance roles.
• Support shift leads in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment as required for tasks.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Prioritize customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and the environment.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors including tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
• Complete work assignments promptly.
• Utilize chemicals and supplies according to procedures.
• Operate and maintain equipment properly and safely.
• Observe safety precautions, including using "wet floor" signs.
• Work independently without supervision.
• Report safety hazards promptly.

Qualifications

• Experience in the janitorial industry required; floor and carpet care expertise preferred.
• A drug test is required; 3+ years of experience preferred.
• Must pass SBM background checks, pre-employment drug screening, and E-Verify.
• Floor care experience and machinery operation skills required.
• Driver's license required.
• General knowledge of floor care and scrubbing techniques.

Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Shift: 5:00 pm - 1:30 am, Monday - Friday
