Job summary
Salt Lake County seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to design and oversee flood control and water resources projects under the direction of senior engineers. You will perform hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, prepare plans, and coordinate with multiple County divisions and external consultants.
The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil/Environmental Engineering, PE licensure in Utah (or eligible), and a CFM certification or ability to obtain within one year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
- CFM or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
- Valid Utah driver’s license at time of hire.
- Engineer licensure (PE) required or obtainable within six months of employment for Utah.
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering plans using CAD for Flood Control Ordinance Facilities, natural waterways, and canal systems.
- Prepare flood studies for County facilities and ordinances.
- Act as Construction Manager for flood control projects.
- Coordinate with County divisions, engineers, consultants, and other agencies.
- Prepare budgets, contract pay estimates, change orders, and proposals.
- Attend meetings with County divisions, government agencies, utilities and developers.
