Job summary

Harvard University Central Administration (HUDS) is seeking a Floating Assistant Manager to provide operational oversight across dining operations. The role supports the Unit/General Manager to ensure service quality, safety, and guest satisfaction for students, faculty, and guests.

Responsibilities include inventory control, staffing, scheduling, and collaboration with Human Resources and HUDS. The position emphasizes strong leadership, customer service, and adherence to university policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
• Knowledge of Kronos or similar timekeeping systems.
• Experience with FoodPro or other menu management systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and safety standards across food service operations.
• Monitor inventory and costs, support weekly audits and menu planning.
• Maintain positive relationships with university stakeholders and guests.
• Ensure equipment is operational and the physical unit is well maintained.
• Learn all aspects of the retail unit including cash handling and micros.
