Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a dedicated Floater to support high-quality early childhood education for children and families. Under supervision, you will implement curriculum goals, assist in daily instructional activities, and help maintain a safe, clean classroom environment that aligns with Bright from the Start licensing and Quality Rated standards.

You will collaborate with staff, engage families, and participate in trainings to meet YMCA and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be 19 years of age or older.
• First Aid/CPR & 10 hour Health & Safety Orientation (BFTS) within 30 days of hire and maintain the certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure School Readiness/Academic Instruction by supporting lesson plans aligned with early learning standards.
• Assist lead teacher with language, literacy, math, science, and social-emotional activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe classroom and organized learning environment.
• Provide responsive, culturally sensitive care and build individual relationships with children.
• Communicate with families and participate in open communication when appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and program goals and complete incident reports when required.
