Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is hiring a Floater - Teacher for Augusta locations. This full-time role supports delivering high-quality early education for children, following the curriculum and ensuring safety, supervision, and family engagement.

You will collaborate with staff, communicate with families, and uphold licensing and program standards. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, being 19+, and certifications (First Aid/CPR, Health & Safety).

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be 19 years of age or older.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR & 10 hour Health & Safety Orientation within 30 days of hire and maintain the certification.
• CDA, TCC (preferred).
• Have experience working with children.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Must pass background check, BFTS, and drug test.
• TB screening and a Physical must be submitted before working.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a high-quality educational experience for children and families.
• Implement the program based on curriculum goals and objectives.
• Work as a team member to meet classroom and center needs.
• Develop relationships with children through responsive and caring interactions.
• Assist in activities related to weekly studies and student interests.
• Implement family style meals and engage children in conversation.
• Communicate with parents when appropriate.
• Keep classroom environmentally clean and organized per program goals.
• Maintain required records and documentation; ensure safety and health guidelines.
• Provide adequate supervision indoors and outdoors; prevent injuries.
• Complete incident reports and follow documentation steps.
• Attend trainings to meet BFTS and YMCA requirements.
