Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse in the Nursing department. The role involves delivering safe patient care using the nursing process across units as needed and maintaining competency.

The position requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certificates, with a preference for BSN and at least one year of acute care experience. The Float RN may be assigned to two or more units and supports patient/family education.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Float RN may be assigned to two or more units and will maintain competency in all units.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and educate patients and families.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
