Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for UMMS Staffing (USC). The RN will provide patient- and family-centered care across inpatient, procedural, surgical, and ambulatory settings as part of the internal resource workforce.

Staffing Center deploys nurses to units based on need and validated competencies. The role requires a Maryland RN license (or compact eligibility), BLS, and 2+ years of acute care experience; ACLS/PALS/NRP/NIHSS may be required per unit.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or eligibility through Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP/NIHSS certifications may be required based on unit.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• EFM and STABLE certifications for L&D as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to the patient population and acuity.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents care.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Administers medications safely and uses clinical equipment per policy.
• Supports unit operations and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
