University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) Staffing USC is seeking a Clinical Nurse for long‑term assignments across inpatient, procedural, surgical, and ambulatory care settings. The USC RN is deployed to units based on need and validated competencies, working within Maryland Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies.

Requires MD RN license, BLS, and unit‑specific certifications; minimum two years acute care experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

Current and active Maryland RN license or eligibility through licensure compact.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS and unit-specific certifications may be required depending on the unit.
Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience within the past 12 months.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program.

Responsabilités

Provides direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to patient population and acuity.
Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents care in the EMR.
Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team to promote safety and quality of care.
Administers medications safely and uses clinical equipment per policy.
Delegates and supervises nursing care within competency and policy.
Maintains licensure and required certifications for assigned units.
Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
