Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a skilled Relationship Banker to build lasting client relationships, assess financial needs, and recommend banking solutions. You will work with both consumer and business clients, processing transactions and opening accounts while promoting digital self-service tools.

The role emphasizes proactive outreach, strong communication, and collaboration with branch teams to deliver exceptional service across all banking products.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relationship Banker 2: Typically has a minimum four to five years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • Senior Relationship Banker: Typically has five or more years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training
  • NMLS registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
  • Required NMLS registration process includes a criminal background and credit check
  • Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients
  • Thorough or advanced knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures and support systems
  • Thorough knowledge of all retail products and services
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in participating in sales campaigns/promotions
  • Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies
  • Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while leveraging a digital first mindset
  • Demonstrated advanced level of proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer’s needs both reactively and proactively
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred

  • Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests, and submit credit applications
  • Originate and close consumer loans
  • Educate clients on deposit and loan products and services
  • Recommend financial solutions based on each customer’s unique goals and needs
  • Proactively educate clients on emerging and self-service digital products and services
  • Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy
  • Open and/or close the branch
