Job summary

Duke University Health System Float Pool – Intermediate/Stepdown Units is seeking an experienced RN for a full-time, on-site role in Durham, NC. You will provide comprehensive nursing care across diverse specialties and participate in patient rounds with interdisciplinary teams.

You’ll gain cross-training across General Surgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Transplant while earning a $5.00/hour float pool premium and enjoying full benefits and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in intermediate/stepdown or acute care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care across Intermediate and Stepdown units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in patient rounds.
• Manage patient assignments with ratios typically 1:3 to 1:6 based on acuity.
• Support care environment with Charge Nurses, Nursing Care Assistants, and Health Unit Coordinators.
