Job summary

Prime Healthcare Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL seeks a Float Pool Registered Nurse for 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts. The RN will work across ICU, CCU, Telemetry and Med-Surg units, providing comprehensive patient care and telemetry monitoring.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year RN experience, valid state license, and BLS; ACLS is preferred with a quick ramp-up period after hire. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current valid State RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current (preferred).
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac monitoring and observe telemetry to track heart rhythms; report arrhythmias.
• Address a broad range of conditions including infections, diabetes, post-operative recovery, or chronic illnesses.
• Monitor vital signs and conduct detailed physical assessments.
• Administer cardiac medications and pain management; monitor for interactions.
• Manage IV lines, fluids, and hydration; ensure correct dosages.
• Educate patients on heart-healthy practices and post-discharge care.
• Provide discharge instructions and lifestyle recommendations to prevent readmission.
