Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse for Every 3rd Weekend/EOH. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, you will advocate for patients and apply the nursing process while accommodating age-specific needs.

The role requires RI RN licensure, a nursing degree (associate's required, bachelor’s preferred) and current BLS. Duties include prioritizing care, reporting deviations, and collaborating with the health team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Registered Nurse in Rhode Island.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; associate’s degree in nursing required; Baccalaureate in nursing preferred.
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
• Understanding of Rhode Island Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and reports deviations from patient norms and documents nursing interventions.
• Provides basic comfort and support according to patient needs; involves patient and family in care.
• Sets priorities in patient assignments and seeks guidance for complex cases.
• Identifies emergencies and initiates appropriate response; plans for potential needs during emergencies.
• Modifies nursing plan of care based on diagnosis/outcomes; documents assessments.
