Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg/Progressive Care Float Pool. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure high-quality, efficient care across Med/Surg, Telemetry and Progressive Care units.

You will work within a collaborative team focused on excellent patient outcomes and professional nursing advancement. The role emphasizes patient education, careful documentation, and precise medication administration under physician orders.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse and active FL RN license within 90 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification required (6‑month grace period from hire).
• Current NIHSS certification required (6‑month grace period from hire).
• CCRN, ONC, PCCN, CMSRN or other advanced medical-surgical certifications.
• Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
