Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, direct and indirect patient care across units. You will communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and respond quickly to evolving clinical situations, with supervision as needed.

The role requires a valid Nevada nursing license, BLS and ACLS certification, and at least two years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current NV nursing license.
• Current BLS & ACLS certificate.
• At least two years acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (in partnership with patient inside room).
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy; includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients; accurately assigns triage categories.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring; identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
