Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV, is seeking a dynamic Float Pool Registered Nurse. You will provide direct and indirect patient care across units, communicate changes in patient condition with physicians, and float to all departments as needed.

The role requires compassionate care, strong assessment skills, and the ability to respond quickly to changes. BLS/ACLS are required; PALS within six months. Join a supportive team at UHS.

Qualifications

• Current NV nursing license.
• BLS & ACLS certificate.
• PALS certificate (to be obtained within six months of employment).
• At least two years critical care experience in the ED, ICU, or PACU.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for bedside report using IMAP & SBAR.
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated.
• Head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments per policy (pediatric, adolescent, geriatric).
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care; assigns triage categories.
• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring; identifies dysrhythmias and treats per ACLS protocol.
