Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to deliver direct and indirect patient care across units. The role requires compassion, quick assessment, and consistent communication with physicians about changes in patient condition.

Candidates must float to all units and have an active NV nursing license with BLS/ACLS. PALS is required within six months. Two years of critical care in ED/ICU/PACU is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current NV nursing license.
• Current BLS & ACLS certificate.
• PALS certificate (to be obtained within six months of employment).
• At least two years critical care experience in the ED, ICU, or PACU.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (in partnership with patient inside room).
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy (pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics, and general population).
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias, and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
