Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care across units with compassion and respect. You will communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and be willing to float to all departments under supervision.

Requirements include active NV nursing license, BLS/ACLS, PALS within six months, and at least two years of critical care experience in ED/ICU/PACU. UHS supports professional growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current NV nursing license.
• Current BLS & ACLS certificate.
• PALS certificate (to be obtained within six months of employment).
• At least two years critical care experience in the ED, ICU, or PACU.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room)
• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
