Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care across units with compassion and respect. You will communicate changes in patients’ conditions with physicians and respond quickly to changes in condition or treatment, while performing general nursing duties under supervision.

Qualifications

• Current NV nursing license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• At least two years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, consult with other specialists as required and adjust nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
