Ideal candidates will have an accredited nursing degree, Michigan RN licensure, and 2+ years of acute care experience. BLS certification and vaccinations are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum two years of direct clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical nursing or related acute care settings.
• Active Michigan RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• Tuberculosis screening and required vaccinations (including influenza).

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across medical and surgical units, adapting to diverse patient populations and clinical settings.
• Assess patient conditions and identify potential complications prior to significant changes in vital signs or clinical status.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient assessment and clinical best practices.
• Perform a wide range of nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.
• Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and responses to treatment with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff regarding patient status and care plans.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment while adhering to infection control and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and requests while managing multiple patient assignments efficiently.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as a regional float nurse, transitioning between units and shifts as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
