Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a flexible, capable Registered Nurse to join the Float Pool across MUSC Lancaster Medical Center and MUSC Chester Medical Center. You will rotate through Emergency, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry and Neurology Progressive Care, with 36 hours per week across 12-hour shifts.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, a SC or compact-state RN license, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current South Carolina or compact-state RN license.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual and environmental needs of patients and families.
• Perform assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, plan and implement interventions, coordinate care, educate patients and families.
• Deliver age- and developmentally appropriate care.
• Direct and lead assigned team members while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Identify clinical priorities and take initiative to improve patient outcomes.
• Coordinate effective delivery of patient care using care management principles.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and protect patient privacy.
