Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network in the United States is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool to provide direct nursing care across medical-surgical, telemetry and acute care units. You will be a patient advocate, collaborate with physicians and staff, and adjust to census and acuity changes to meet patient needs.

This role requires an NYS RN license, 3 years of RN experience in multiple units, BLS, ACLS, and preferred PALS. Expect extensive travel between units.

Qualifications

• 2 Year / Associate Degree in nursing, required
• Other nursing diploma, required
• 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
• All RN's hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor's prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, document and evaluate care to ensure a coordinated holistic approach which best meets the needs of the patient.
• Advocate for patients’ dignity and self-respect; promote autonomy and equitable access to care.
• Float to various units or locations based on staffing needs and competencies.
• Interact with multidisciplinary teams and act as a resource for staff.
• Lead and participate in disaster responses within the assigned unit.
