Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse – Resource to join our system float pool. This role provides evidence-based patient care across a wide range of inpatient settings and facilities, aligning with our mission and standards.

The nurse collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, supports teaching and mentoring, and adapts to real-time staffing needs and patient acuity. The position requires an ASN with RN licensure in Indiana (BSN preferred; BSN may be required for new hires after

Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred. BSN required for those newly hired or promoted into the position after October 1, 2025
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license
• Graduate from nationally accredited nursing program; 2 years of experience preferred
• BLS certification must be obtained prior to orientation
• Other ALS certifications may be required per unit/department policies
• Must be highly adaptable, confident, and skilled in managing change
• Experienced in multiple specialties or eager to broaden clinical scope
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Committed to professional growth and system-wide impact

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate competent, evidence-based care across the continuum from assessment to evaluation
• Float across IU Health facilities and inpatient settings based on staffing needs and patient acuity
• Participate in clinical decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Adhere to ANA standards and Code of Ethics, ensuring professional integrity and high-quality care
• Support care delivery across medical-surgical, progressive care, critical care, emergency, and specialty units
