Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Nursing Float Pool at Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, delivers safe patient care across multiple units during day shifts. The Float RN maintains competency, guides patient teaching, and collaborates with physicians to respond to changes in clinical condition.

Requirements include a current RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and at least one year of acute care experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process.
• Float RN may be assigned to two or more units and maintain competency.
• Direct patient care within the scope of practice; guide patient/family teaching.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and results of diagnostics; respond to changes promptly.
