Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Facility Float Pool Patient Care Technician (PCT). The role supports patient care under RN/LPN guidance, with a 12-hour night shift (6:30p–7:00a) and full-time 36 hours/week.

Entry-level applicants welcome, with Mercy-provided PCA training if needed, and opportunities to advance through the UAP ladder. Preferred candidates include EMTs, Paramedics, or those with prior patient care experience (PCA/CNA/ nursing student).

Qualifications

• Experience: None required. If no previous experience, may start as PCA with 175-hour Mercy training.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or prior patient care experience (PCA/CNA/ nursing student).
• Education: High school diploma / GED; CNA/CPCT or healthcare program enrollment; Mercy coworker eligibility.
• Certifications: BLS within 1 month; PCT competencies within 3 months.
• Preferred Certifications: CNA, EMT, AUA, CPCT.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN direction.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
• Work as part of a team to meet patient and unit goals.
