Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patient care under RN or LPN supervision. This part-time 24 hours/week night shift offers hands-on experience and opportunities for growth within Mercy's UAP training pathway.

You will work as part of the 4E Neuro team, delivering compassionate care, and gaining valuable clinical exposure in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience: None required. If no previous experience, will be considered for PCA role with 175-hour training during orientation.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or prior patient care experience (PCA, CNA, or nursing student).
• Required Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPCT or enrollment in healthcare program; 18+ and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training.
• Certifications: BLS required within 1 month; completion of PCT competencies within 3 months.
• Preferred Certifications: CNA, EMT, AUA, CPCT.
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements: lift 50 pounds regularly; prolonged standing/walking; grip/reach/bend/kneel/twist/squat.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN.
• Work cooperatively with others as part of a team.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
