Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, seeks a Part-Time Patient Care Technician (PCT) for 24 hours/week with 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm–7:00am). The role supports patient care under RN/LPN direction in the 4E Neuro unit and offers a pathway via the UAP ladder (PCA, PCT, NT).

Experience is not required; a 175-hour Mercy training program may be provided during orientation. BLS is required within 1 month, and PCT competencies within 3 months. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Experience: None required; PCA role considered with 175-hour training within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic or prior patient care (PCA/CNA/student).
• Education: HS diploma/GED; CNA/CPCT or healthcare program enrollment; 18+.
• Certifications: BLS within 1 month; PCT competencies within 3 months.
• Preferred Certifications: CNA, EMT, AUA, CPCT.
• Physical requirements: lift 50 pounds; standing/walking; bend/kneel/twist/squat.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN or LPN direction.
• Work cooperatively with the team to achieve patient wellness goals.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
