Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Float Pool to provide direct patient care on a unit under the supervision of an RN or Case Manager. This role supports the care plan, assists with respiratory and rehabilitation services, takes vital signs, collects specimens, and performs EKGs as required.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, one year of patient care experience (or equivalent), and a BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• One year of patient care experience, preferably in acute care.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Takes care of patients with activities of daily living.
• Takes vital signs, weighs patients, and collects routine urine and other specimens.
• Maintains patient safety and infection control; promotes a safe therapeutic environment.
• Performs EKGs and assists with care plan implementation under RN supervision.
