Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support a patient-centered care model under RN supervision. The role includes measuring vital signs, assisting with ADLs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The PCT will report concerns to care team members and assist with patient transfers as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification on hire, with at least one year of related patient care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or CNA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with everyday needs (personal hygiene, bathroom, grooming).
• Monitor vital signs or EKG signals and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies; linen clean.
