Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System in Reno, is seeking a Float Pool Patient Care Tech/CNA. The role provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting under the supervision of a registered nurse preceptor.

You will float to all units, perform hourly rounds, bedside shift reports, and communicate patient changes to the RN. Current CNA license and BLS are required; prior acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CNA license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Prefer one year of experience in an acute care/behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

• Completes bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Conducts hourly rounds with the 5 P’s and updates RN about IV pump status and patient needs.
• Performs patient care with age-appropriate standards for pediatric, geriatric and general populations.
• Ensures patient safety and reduces the likelihood of care errors in daily practice.
