MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Nursing Resource Pool. The role supports nursing staff across 20+ inpatient units, delivering direct patient care and assisting with daily activities while floating between units during 8- or 12-hour shifts.

The ideal candidate holds an active Texas CNA license and a high school diploma, with 2+ years in acute care. Benefits include extensive medical and retirement options and generous time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active Texas CNA license and BLS certification required.
• Minimum two years in inpatient/acute care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of nursing staff.
• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and comfort.
• Perform 1:1 observation for at-risk patients and report changes.
• Monitor patient condition and maintain a safe environment.
• Document care activities promptly and accurately.
• float to different inpatient units during shifts as needed.
