Job summary

Mount Carmel, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The role covers day and night shifts and emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and patient-centered care across the nursing process.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, and education for patients and families, with opportunities to collaborate in emergency situations and to mentor other team members.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience preferred.
• 18 months of recent/relevant clinical experience within their specialty area.
• Completion of online competencies with an 80% or greater.
• Nursing specialties: BLS required; ACLS/PALS where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice.
• Assist provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments.
• Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a provider, including set up of procedures.
• Administer medications under the direction of the provider.
• Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and diagnoses.
• Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients.
• Delegate and supervise other care team members as appropriate.
