Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Float Pool Operating Room Nurse PRN to join our surgical services team. You will contribute by applying the nursing process to plan, execute, and evaluate care for the intra-operative patient, rotating across ambulatory surgery centers.

You will oversee room setup, assist with cases, coordinate the circulator role, and ensure smooth transitions between procedures. A valid RN license, BCLS, ACLS, and PALS within stated timelines are required; CNOR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an operating room setting; ambulatory surgery center preferred.
• Active RN license in the applicable state or compact license.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications required upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• PALS required within 90 days, or earlier per department arrangement.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rotate to other ambulatory surgery center facilities.
• Oversee instrument and equipment setup, prepare for cases using preference cards, and anticipate surgeons’ needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate efficient transitions between surgical procedures.
• Utilize and update preference cards as necessary.
• Relay hand-off communication to PACU staff to ensure continuity of care.
