Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Float Pool.

In this role you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and revise care plans, and supervise care delegated to non-licensed staff to ensure high-quality outcomes. You will administer medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor patient status while collaborating with physicians and the care team.

Qualifications

• 2 years of ICU nursing experience required.
• ADN from an accredited program.
• Current TX RN license or Compact RN license (within 90 days).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification within 60 days of hire.
• CATN or TNCC certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments at admission and develop a care plan.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Direct and monitor care by non-licensed staff on the team.
• Provide patient/family education on care and treatments.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per policy.
• Review orders and ensure accurate execution and communication.
• Provide shift reports for continuity of care.

RN license (Texas or Compact)
