Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is hiring a phlebotomist to join our Houston labs. You will perform venipunctures and waived testing, maintain records, and support quality controls in a fast-paced clinical environment with minimal supervision.

We value accuracy, customer service, and teamwork. Requirements include a high school diploma, phlebotomy training or equivalent experience, BLS certification readiness, and ability to obtain necessary clearances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 3+ years of related phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to complete KSC skill validation within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use related equipment.
• Experience with Windows-based software.
• Strong customer service skills.
• English speaking and literacy.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures and other collection services as ordered.
• Perform CLIA waived testing as described in protocol with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records for inspections/audits.
• Perform quality controls and participate in proficiency testing.
