Job summary

Labcorp in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to perform blood collections and patient specimen handling. The role involves data entry, billing support, and travel to additional sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. Prior Labcorp experience is preferred; strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Current or prior Labcorp experience.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Be 21 years of age or older.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
